FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS….OR QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK!

1) HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS & HOW EXPERIENCED ARE YOUR DJ’S?

We have been in business since 1996 and our DJ’s each have over 10 years’ experience. The owner, Linda Lipka, is still an active DJ for the company and has been DJ’ing since 1989. Co-owner, John Lipka, has been DJ’ing since 1990 and is an active DJ for the company. 

2) WHAT DOES AN EVENT NORMALLY COST?

Sounsational’s rates are customized per the needs of our clients.  Factors that will affect the price include, distance/location, the season of the year, the day of the week and the length of time needed by the client.  We offer a variety of services that can be added on including Ceremony performance, additional hours, up lighting, monogram lighting, babysitting services, wisdom and wishes, outside vendor contracting and a rehearsal night service. 

3) CAN WE MEET WITH OUR DJ? HOW MANY CONSULTATIONS CAN WE HAVE?

You are always welcome to meet with your DJ and if your DJ is not the owner, the owner will be at those meetings as well to help ensure that everyone is on the same page. Just another way to give you the best service possible! You are welcome to up to 4 Consultations prior to your event at no charge, additional consultations cost $75.00 an hour. If you fail to show up for a consultation a fee of $75.00 will be added to your balance.

4) IS THERE A DEPOSIT? HOW MUCH? IS IT REFUNDABLE?

There is a deposit requirement of 30% of your total and it is NOT refundable but if for any reason you cancel your date your deposit will be applied to any date you re-book on.

5) HOW DO WE BOOK YOUR SERVICE?

All you have to do is call and schedule a consultation.  We will meet with you in person and answer all your questions.  At that point, if you chose to use our service we will create a contract for you that will require the 30% deposit to become valid. 

6) WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR PAYMENT OF THE BALANCE?

We require that the balance of your contract be paid in full 14 days prior to the event. You are also welcome to use “DJ LAYAWAY”. With DJ Layaway, you can break your balance amount into installment payments throughout the time frame of your contract with us and pay on a monthly basis. This allows you to work it into your wedding budget with ease.

7) HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK A DJ AND DO YOU PROVIDE A WRITTEN CONTRACT?

The sooner the better is always the best rule of thumb, popular dates go fast and typically, clients book anywhere from 6 months to a year in advance of their wedding dates. Yes we do provide a written contract that is designed to protect both parties and we believe, helps to put everyone’s mind at ease.

8) WHAT DOES YOUR SYSTEM CONSIST OF?

Sounsational uses professional sound and lighting equipment only! Our packages consist of Ultimate speaker stands(2), JBL powered speakers (or equivalent quality), DJ mixer, Dual CD players, wireless microphones, Professional amplifier (if needed), computer and multiple external hard drives packed full of musical selections that span the decades.

9) WHAT DOES THE DJ WEAR?
 

All of our DJ’s come in professional attire consistent with a formal event. We are dressed to work and to impress!

10) WILL THE DJ COORDINATE THE EVENING AND MAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENTS?

We at Sounsational take great pride in doing all of these things for you and doing them in a professional and enjoyable manner. We are your professional Master of Ceremonies for your wedding celebration. We will introduce the BRIDAL PARTY & BRIDE AND GROOM ENTRANCE. We will handle the TOAST, BLESSING, CAKE CUTTING, INTRODUCE THE FORMAL DANCES, THE BOUQUET & GARTER TOSS, THE EXIT and any other special event planned. We believe that by personalizing these moments we are able to help create a lasting memory for all to enjoy!

11) DO WE (OR CAN WE) PICK THE MUSIC FOR OUR EVENT?

You are more than welcome to pick the music! We can normally play 15 to 20 songs per hour and work WITH you to help create a variety of music that satisfies all your guests. We encourage you to put your own personal touch on your selections from cocktails to dinner to dancing. 

We strongly encourage you to supply us with your “TOP 25 SONGS” that you HAVE to hear at your reception. We also allow you to choose whether or not you would like your guests to make requests.

But rest assured, we never forget this is YOUR SPECIAL NIGHT!

We play what you want and do not play what you don’t want.

12) DO YOU HAVE REFERENCES?
We are always happy to supply you with references and our references are always happy to share their stories!

13) ARE YOU INSURED?

We are fully insured with over $100,000.00 in liability insurance

14) DO YOU HAVE BACK UP EQUIPMENT?

YES, we have back up equipment and back up Dj’s, both in case of emergencies and both on call!

15) IS IT CUSTOMARY TO PROVIDE THE DJ WITH A GRATUITY OR IS IT INCLUDED IN YOUR PRICE?

Unlike other service oriented businesses, we DO NOT include a gratuity in our overall cost. We believe that when you reflect on the consultation time, the personalized service, the fun and enjoyment of yourselves and your guests that the choice of a gratuity or the level of a gratuity is strictly up to you, customarily a gratuity is 15% to 20% of the total cost. We ask that any gratuity provided be given directly to the DJ for your event. Thank You.
